Abstract

In asset intensive process industries like Energy and Mining, the ultimate objective of improving Asset Information Management is a Digital Twin, defined as ‘an accurate digital replica of a physical asset, providing an integrated view of the asset, to any user, at any point in the lifecycle of the asset’.

Benefits of implementing Digital Twin technology include Improved Project Execution & Plant Performance, Reduced Operating Costs and Improved Safety and Incident Mitigation.

At the heart of Digital Twin adoption is an enterprise-scale Information Management challenge encompassing data governance, standards and processes, content and information, and technology; not to mention the technical challenge of wrangling significant amounts of siloed asset data and records related to operations, safety, vendors, engineering, and asset master data.

How can this data transformation be achieved, what are the most common roadblocks to a successful Digital Twin implementation, and how do we overcome them?

In this session we will explore the evolution of Asset information Management in process industries, the ROI business case for adopting Digital Twin, creating a Digital Twin roadmap that delivers incremental value, and how to get started. The second half of the session will be devoted to a demonstration of an industry leading Digital Twin solution from Veerum.
