Abstract

Dylan Miles will present some Azure architecture patterns they have been using at Suncor to manage orchestration of data pipelines to the data lake as well as some they are experimenting with and open it up to questions from the audience.

Dylan Miles is a Mining Engineer (UBC, 2002) who has been working with Mining data for most of his career.  Starting with SQL queries on the vendor transactional databases and learning about Cloud and Data Lake architecture along the way.  For the past 4 years, he's been involved in the development of the Mine Data Domain project to hydrate the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) with data originating in Suncor's mining operations.  While not at work, Dylan enjoys reading, playing video games, and doing outdoor activities with his 2 children (age 7 & 9) including skiing, mountain biking, and recently dirtbiking.
