Synopsis

Many organizations struggle with the absence of a clear and effective Data Strategy. While the need for one is widely acknowledged, it's often viewed as a time-consuming effort—especially when urgent data challenges demand immediate action. This tutorial will show you how to develop a robust Data Strategy in just 9 weeks, using a practical and proven method.

In today’s data-driven landscape, organizations aspire to be more than just data-informed—they aim to be data-centric and leverage AI to enhance customer experiences and gain predictive insights. Yet, when asked about their Data Strategy, many point to technology-centric documents that focus solely on platform migrations or infrastructure upgrades. This falls far short of what’s truly needed.

To succeed with data initiatives, organizations need a holistic, integrated, and accessible Data Strategy—one that guides decisions and aligns stakeholders. While CxOs and data leaders recognize the importance of such a strategy, they’re often caught in a cycle of quick fixes, investing in tools without a clear plan. The result? Misaligned efforts and missed opportunities.

This tutorial introduces the PAC Method—Pragmatic, Agile, and Communicable—as featured in the book Data Strategies for Data Governance. Through a real-world case study, you'll explore a ten-step approach that helps you craft a strategy that is not only effective but also easy to communicate and implement.

Key Takeaways:

  • A clear understanding of why a strong Data Strategy is essential to the success of data initiatives.

  • A step-by-step guide to creating a Pragmatic, Agile, and Communicable Data Strategy in just 9 weeks.

  • Real examples of Data Strategy Canvases you can adapt to your organization.
